Brit Hume Knows Where It’s At

May 16, 2007 · Leave a Comment

Brit Hume asked Ron Paul about economic policies during the last five minutes of the debate, which gave the good doctor a chance to shine, especially in the venue of a South Carolina GOP debate.

Ron Paul in First Place on Fox News Text Message Poll

May 16, 2007 · Leave a Comment

Ron Paul is in first place in the post-debate poll from Fox News with 30%; Mitt Romney came in second with 27%, and Giuliani third with 16%.

The ever-annoying Sean Hannity was sure to pipe in, on hearing that Ron Paul was in first place with 30%, beating out establishment candidates Mitt Romney and Rudolph Guiliani, “I don’t think Ron Paul won the debate,” or something to that effect. It’s sad that I’ve always liked Alan Colmes better on that show… Sean Hannity gives conservatives a bad name. He comes off as cocky and a little bit pushy, and rarely intellectually stimulating. He’s not intelligent enough to want Ron Paul for president.

NATIONAL REVIEW Ignores Ron Paul, Lists 9 Candidates in Debate Analysis

May 9, 2007 · Leave a Comment

Even conservative National Review ignores Ron Paul — could it be that they are afraid that the REAL conservatives (i.e., the ones against big government) are catching on and defecting from the GOP en masse? Read the article by NRO’s David Frum:

The Party and the Candidates (Compelling title, I might add…)

ABC Leaves Ron Paul Out of Candidates’ Page; Includes Gravel and Others

May 9, 2007 · Leave a Comment

ABC just can’t get enough of its anti-Paul crusade: can’t they see that this will only get even more people interested in Ron Paul? Consider this: at 4:30 A.M. Google search results for “ron paul” gave 40 results (yes, as in the two-digit number), with the original Rick Klein article nowhere in sight. Five hours later, there are 14,000 results (yes, as in the 5-digit number) with the Klein article at the top spot.

ABC News Buries Ron Paul Story

May 9, 2007 · 2 Comments

ABC, now being labelled “Already Been Censored” by some, apparently has buried its own Ron Paul story. As of early afternoon on Tuesday, May 8, there were 357 posts left in the comments section. Most were devoid of any “profanity, personal attacks, or antisocial behavior,” all specifically prohibited by ABC’s comments page. However, in the early evening hours of Tuesday, May 8, the comments started systematically disappearing. At one point the comments were down to 4 posts, later dwindling to a sole comment. People leaving comments mused that readers should hurry and read their posts before they were deleted. Strangely, though, the comments began to stay put.

I had noticed that, earlier in the day, there had curiously been no mention whatsoever of this article on the entire Politics section of ABC News. With 357 comments appearing at one point in shorter than a 24- hour span of time, something was surely rotten in the southernmost Scandinavian land. ABC had articles up on this section with 11 comments being touted as “Hot Topics.”Somehow, though, ABC did not consider “The Ron Paul Effect” by Rick Klein to be a “hot topic.”

Why did the comments reappear all of a sudden? Did the ABC deleters go on a dinner break? Unlikely. My guess is that they want to placate Ron Paul supporters by giving them the illusion of having their comment space returned to them, while having quietly buried the piece.
I also noticed that the “most e-mailed stories” were no longer being linked on the Ron Paul article page. It had been there earlier. I have tried googling “ron paul” + abc to see if the article came up prominently in the results. I even tried googling “ron paul effect” (the very title of Mr. Klein’s article), only to discover that it is mysteriously absent from the results. I have a feeling the “savvy” Paul supporters will be emboldened all the more after this move on the part of ABC.
In the meantime, www.ronpaul2008.com
